Christmas Reception in Support of Ukraine

In aid of the Ukrainian Malteser Charity Service

Monday 8 December • Central London

Join us for a warm and welcoming Christmas reception in support of the Ukrainian Malteser Charity Service. The evening will take place in an elegant library in central London, complete with a fire and a calm, seasonal atmosphere. It offers a thoughtful way to begin the festive season while helping those in genuine need.

Programme

The programme will include a short talk on the work of St John and the Alliance Orders in Ukraine, providing an insight into the practical support being offered to communities affected by the conflict. This will be followed by a small selection of traditional carols, supported by a few professional singers to ensure a gentle and tuneful harmony. Together, these elements offer a reflective and uplifting start to the Christmas season.

Gifts for Ukrainian Children

There is no charge for attending. Instead, guests are invited to bring a small Christmas present for a Ukrainian child, clearly labelled with the intended age and gender. Suitable gifts include warm winter clothing, small toys, puzzles, colouring books, simple craft sets, storybooks and other modest items. Please avoid anything requiring batteries. A QR code will be available for anyone who would prefer to make a donation to the Ukrainian Malteser Charity Service. All gifts and contributions will be taken to Ukraine the following morning and personally delivered by volunteers from St John Gateway and the Order of Malta.

Festive Refreshments

Guests will be offered complimentary Christmas nibbles, including mulled wine, pigs in blankets, small Stilton soufflé bites and a selection of wines and soft drinks. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements, please speak to the waiting staff, who will be happy to advise.

Dress Code

A formal dress code applies. Gentlemen should wear a jacket and tie or national dress, and ladies are asked to dress to a similar standard. Denim and training shoes are not permitted.
